[00:00:00] Sa. [00:00:30] Welcome to AI Today, I'm your host, Dr. Alan Badot. And when most people, they hear the words artificial intelligence, they think Silicon Valley, right? It's pretty, pretty traditional. [00:00:42] You think about chatbots, you think about search engines, you think about maybe some self driving cars. [00:00:48] But you know, one of the things that in industries that a lot of people aren't talking about is you know, other industries that it's starting to really transform. [00:01:01] And you think about the ability of farmers for example, to use AI to predict, you know, crop yields and that's even before they've put one seed in the ground. Or if you think about construction companies and how they're using it to you know, use maybe computer, computer vision to catch safety violations or healthcare providers. Right? We've talked about healthcare providers an awful lot and how they could be using it to enhance a patient's service or you know, things like that. But the fashion industry, we haven't talked about that, have we? [00:01:39] Well, last week, I don't know if you knew it or not, this fashion week in New York City, you never know what you're going to find out, right? And I wanted to think about, well, geez, how's AI being used in the fashion industry? Is it being used in the fashion industry? [00:01:56] Well, you know, I did a little research, come to find out it's being used in an awful lot of places. [00:02:04] And you know, for some folks that, you know, were trying to build up some of the Runway activities, you know, like Kate Barton who partnered with IBM, Watson and you know, they were working to, they. Well, they did, they deployed a multilingual AI agent that let guests virtually try on collection pieces in real time. It's pretty, pretty fascinating. [00:02:32] Others were using some Google powered AI to virtually try on technology or let you know, different editors experience those garments right on the spot. And you know, this is not something that is, is really new. Come to find out they've been using these, these types of things for, for a little while. You know, we thought it just started in with glasses and we'll talk about these here soon. But you know, it's really been shifting how each industry is, is trying to, to really showcase and you know, allow others the ability to, to you know, use things and try things on and you know, how industries may be more impacted than a lot of us really thought. I am not a fashionista by any stretch of the imagination and I know I'm going to get comments on, on that. Yeah, I know I'm going to get comments on it. So I'm ready But, you know, today's show, we're going to look at that. We're going to deep dive into how it's reshaping the fashion industry. [00:03:41] We're going to do a new product review on my, on my meta glasses. Of course, these come with the, the band. I love them. But we'll talk more about that here in a little bit. But, you know, I want you all to think about, as technology and AI are reshaping the future, what other industries, you know, are we really just scratching the surface on? [00:04:09] So if we're headed to the Runway, assume that we were, you know, AI isn't knocking on the fashion industry's door anymore. [00:04:22] It is not only redesigning the door, it's also doing the door frame. It's doing the entire building. It's breaking down, you know, fashion jobs and transforming how designers are actually, you know, using it to lead the charge. And it's not just in garments and stuff. It's also pairing it with accessories that are wearables. It's looking at way beyond the different tracks that we normally would think of. Oh, geez. This is just, this is just, you know, for engineering and those kind of things. It's not the case anymore. And in some ways it's, It's. It's not been the case for a little while, and we just didn't know it or we thought that it was less impactful than it really has been. [00:05:13] And so as we're digging deep into these and looking at not only the designs that are taking place in construction industry and engineering and those kind of things, but it's really the designs around fashion and how it's being used and some other areas that we're gonna, we're gonna talk about one of my, one of my favorite brands. [00:05:38] I love, I love, you know, Prada and, and Gucci are really around. [00:05:43] You know, they're trying to use generative AI, for example, to mine some of their archives and looking for, you know, different design inspiration, trying to pull from the past and bring some of those into. Into the future, which I think is. Is pretty amazing. And, you know, you know, Zara, if you look at what they're doing from a predictive analytics capability, and that's really trying to, you know, adapt to trends in, in almost real time. That's pretty, that's pretty fascinating. Things that you don't think about traditionally being an AI play for that, that sort of industry. [00:06:20] Now as you start to build out some of those AI driven, you know, retail platforms and look at the immersive retail labs that are being really led by, you know, SAP and some of the other ones that are out there. It's not an experiment anymore. It really is an industry wide transformation that's taking place. And it's something that, you know, we talk about it all the time. I haven't seen an industry where it's not impactful. [00:06:54] I just haven't dug deep enough into the fashion industry to say, hey, you know, this is, this is bigger than what we thought. [00:07:01] And in this case, it's significantly bigger than what we thought. And it's really, it's really amazing. [00:07:08] And you know, we're gonna, we're gonna look at these things and we're gonna, we're gonna dive deep. [00:07:15] So I want y' all to, to pay attention. You know, earlier in the year we talked about wearables, we talked about how, you know, at CES and you know, that really they're trying to do a whole one device where's, you know, one device does everything, approach and you know, looking at specializations and smart rings and, you know, productivity companions and all those things in between. [00:07:42] Now all that was around gestures, smart watches, you know, bands, those, those sort of things and, and trying to make sure that we're really coupling AI with the human sensors that are out there. And that gives you a lot of, you know, idea where, you know, the, the wearables market is going. But now when you start to actually pair it with more fashion type, you know, activities and senses, you know, you're starting to look at, you know, wearables from, you know, that are more accessory driven, that can, you know, add a little bit more to an ensemble, you know, those sort of things. It starts to, it starts to get you a little bit more excited. You know, I, I love to shop, I love my suits, I love, you know, y' all can see I love these sort of things. And it really does get exciting when you're thinking about, you know, those kind of things and how you compare things with, you know, different, you know, different, you know, suits and different activities and different sneakers and shoes and all those things in between starts to lend to how AI is really a cross cutting technology that folks don't think about. [00:09:00] We think about wearables all the time for the D.O.D. [00:09:03] you know, I, you know, helped build some of them, for goodness sakes. And you think about how those can impact what your daily life is when you're of course, a soldier and you're using those things. But now you bring it out into, you know, into the public and you're using it for different sorts of activities and different sorts of, you know, you know, really just day to day, you know, making your life better. [00:09:29] It becomes a much more profound and bigger industry, quite honestly. [00:09:35] You know, I saw a McKinsey clip that said that it could be an impact of, you know, almost $400 billion just in the fashion industry. [00:09:43] That's just in the fashion industry, for goodness sakes. That's crazy. [00:09:48] And I'm going to repeat it again, just in the fashion industry. It could be that large. [00:09:53] So as we are going to dive deeper into, you know, our, our, our meta Ray Ban display glasses in the next segment as well as some jobs in the fashion industry that are being impacted that are really driving those things, I want you to think about how we can bring all of this together, right? We are living in a convergence moment. [00:10:17] Very important. AI, is that not a software tool? I continue to tell you this, it is not to be treated as a software tool. [00:10:26] So let's stop that. It is embedded in the clothes that are being designed. The way we're shopping, how we're trying on things, how we're using it to execute our day to day lives, how brands predict what we're gonna buy, everything in between. And so in the spirit of Fashion Week that took place last week, and I will go to one of those someday, I'm just saying that our experience with everything around us is changing, right? The world we live in right now, not five years from now, but right now is how we're going to build our own show, quite honestly. [00:11:08] So, AI, today we are going to try to make sense of it all. We're going to cut through all the noise like normal and we're going to show you what works. [00:11:19] Some things that are going to be very interesting for you to think about and you know, very exciting I think, as we dive into the next segment. So I want you to stay with us. We'll be back after a few short messages from our sponsors and we're gonna, we're gonna dive deep into our, our Ray Ban display meta glasses. So stay with us. We'll be right back. [00:11:47] Foreign. [00:12:08] Welcome back to AI Today. I'm your host, Dr. Alan Bedell and I want to get right into this because I'm, I'm really excited to do this. You know, we, you know, many of you knew I was in Vegas a couple of weeks ago and I was at the wi, stopped at the Meta store, the Meta Lab store at, at the Wii and you know, had some, a little bit of assistance trying These on getting my band fit and I just love it, I loved it. So I $799. [00:12:40] And I'm gonna tell you, I love these things and they are, they're just fantastic. Now we did the earlier review on the, the, the just the glasses without the, the heads up display and you know, I love those too. They're very comfortable. You know, same sort of thing with these. Now granted, they're a little bit bigger. You can tell I got brown this time. I needed a little brown. [00:13:06] You know, I had blue, I had black, I didn't have brown. So I needed some brown this time around. And you know, it's not just a, a shiny object, right? It is. I, I, as an AI engineer and a developer at heart and a ethical hacker at heart, there's so many applications that I know when they open these up that I can, I, so much I can do with these and with, with our AI that we're releasing, you know, very soon. There's, there's a ton of things that we'll be able to, to pair between Janice, AI and in these classes. But okay, I'm getting ahead of myself. But you know, Time, as we all know, Time magazine said, you know, these were some of the best inventions of 2025. [00:13:53] I can understand why and as I'm looking at, you know, trying to, trying to, to not just dive deep into the technology and get, you know, in spirit of Fashion week, I'm trying to give you some perspective on why these things are, are just so darn awesome. And you know, let's, let's let's kind of start at the beginning. I gotta pace myself. Let's start at the beginning and we're gonna, we're gonna look at the design. Okay. Because it's a wearable tech, we've talked about that. [00:14:23] You know, the design is, it's not a nice, you know, to have, it's a, it's a requirement. Right. And you know, as a male with a bald head. Yes, I know I'll get another email about that. But you know, the glasses and how they pair with me, you know, we've got to make sure that they fit right. You know, I, I, I like wild glasses, as you all know, wild ties, wild shoes, wild suit sometimes. But you know, the glasses, they've got to be comfortable, but they've got to be functional at the same time. Right. I don't, I don't buy into the, you know, the whole pain in fashion thing. You know, I know it's with some, it's, it's It's. It's more of the. The look than the feel, but with glasses, it's got to be the feel also. And these are very comfortable. They're not that heavy. They're a little bit. A little bit bulkier, you know, around the. The side edges and stuff, of course, but very still very comfortable. Now, as we're. As we're looking about it with the. The Wayfarer silhouette, I love that part about it. You know, I also like the fact. And I'm just gonna. I'm trying to get my notes up here because I don't want to miss something that I. I really was excited about. [00:15:39] They're a little bit thicker, right, Than your regular Ray Bans, but, you know, that's okay. I'm all right with that. You know, the frames, this is where, of course, the cameras are leading to. To really around the square shape. The ease is still the same, you know, as we're. As we're, you know, trying to turn the volume up and down. It's very easy. However, we also have the wristband now. And the wristband allows us to control actions by, you know, just tapping our fingers or moving. You know, if you're. Think about a joystick, playing around with a joystick and moving things around like that, it's very easy. And as you. As you go through and you get more used to it, you can do it right down by your side, and nobody even knows. [00:16:22] Now, from a display perspective, this is where it gets kind of awesome, because I'm. I'm reading some of my notes in the teleprompter that's in there. [00:16:33] Now, as you all knew and I talked about before, there were some other glasses where it had a teleprompter, but when I would wear them on a Zoom or a TV show or an interview, you know, made me look a little robotic, right? Because the glasses would medal over and it would look like either I had sunglasses on. And you, you know, I'm sorry, but don't wear your sunglasses at night, right? You know, not. Just not a good look. And with these, you can't tell. [00:17:06] And it's just amazing that, you know, I'm reading from the teleprompter, and you can't tell what's going on while. While that is all taking place. It's really phenomenal. Same thing with any kind of, you know, music that you're listening to. I can adjust the volume, any sort of different activities that are. That are taking place. [00:17:29] Very easy to adjust those. Very easy to scroll Go to Maps, do a lot of different things with it all with the wristband. Now, here's one thing that I will tell you, okay. [00:17:42] With these more than the other ones, especially with the wristband, you know, it's not a bad idea to go to the store, go to the meta lab if you got one, but, you know, go and get fitted for them. And the reason I say that is because this comes in two sizes. This is the, the standard size, and there is a larger size. [00:18:04] But, you know, the larger ones I would have probably, probably bought, but when I tried them on in the store, they were a little bit too big for me. They were too big for my head. [00:18:16] Don't do it. [00:18:18] And, and so I went with the standard size and I, they just feel a lot more comfortable. Also, when you are trying on your, your wristband, I thought at first when I put it on, I had it down below and really tight down into here. [00:18:35] Well, that's not the best place to put it. You've got to actually put it above that. Got to put it above right about where that bone is right there. Put it above that. And then your connectivity and your, your ability to control it is that much better. [00:18:51] I wouldn't have known that. Even, even the directions, you know, not bad, but, you know, having somebody help you with that, walk you through it, get you through the, the tutorial, help you, help you really play with it. Very, very important. And it's a neutral color, right? And so if you had the black glasses, you can get the black one, you know, a lot of different, a lot of different options with, with that. And so from a fashion perspective, it's not too bad. Brown and blue. Perfect. Right. [00:19:22] You know, I do wish, I do wish they had a couple of wilder colors like they have for the other Wayfarer. But, you know, these are, these are fairly new. So let's hope that, you know, we get a little bit wilder and then maybe you'll see Dr. Badot with some, some really shiny blue ones or something, just, you know, offset some of my suits and stuff. But what's exciting as, as these are really, you know, starting to, to take hold. You know, I've already been asked, oh, can I get these in prescription? Can I get these in transitions? You know, those, those sort of things? Yeah. Yes, you can. [00:19:58] I, I do not have a prescription for glasses. I love the transition piece, though, because I can wear them inside, I can wear them outside. Don't have to take them off. Now, one thing I will say the first time that you go Outside with them, it transitions kind of slow. So what you need to do is set them right in sunlight, direct sunlight, let them sit there for a while, get used to it and then it's going to get better light as you, as you go along. So that is, is really, really nice. Now another thing, I don't do this very often, but we're going to, we're going to dive into, I'm going to unplug my, my case so everybody can see. Another great thing about these, this case is actually very convenient, very easy to use, right. You put it in there but then also very nice plug in on that side. Very easy. The, the cases is, is really great that it folds down. [00:20:55] Excellent from that perspective. Now from a technology, you know, this is 600 by 600 pixel full color videos, full color pictures images. The, you know, the high resolution display that it has is, is right, it's built into the right, you know, eye for your, your lens. It's, it's, it's really, it's really fabulous. You've got, you know, about, oh, I think it's what, 42, 42 pixels per degree. And then there's what a 20, 20 degree field of view, which is amazing. And that, that also means what is it from a brightness perspective? You know, you can adjust how bright it is and so you can see it in a lot of different, you know, see it clears as you want to in a lot of different, you know, environments which is really, which is really fantastic. Now for pairing for your iPhone. Remember previously it was kind of a pain in that you really could only have one pair. That's gone. Now you can have multiple glasses hooked up to your meta device on your iPhone know. [00:22:12] Awesome. Fantastic. Very easy to flip back and forth too. I've got four pairs of them and I love each one of them. Each one serves a little bit difference. Depends on what kind of mood I'm in, what I'm going to wear. But with these, you know, I, I, I, I have not, I have not shied away from wearing them as long as I possibly can because it is really fantastic. From a battery life also, you know, about two hours when I have it going full, you know, full brightness and using the teleprompter and working through which is not, not too bad. Now what from a little bit of a, an improvement perspective, the display can use a little bit more, you know, there's, it could be a little bit sharper. [00:23:04] You know, the, the vision that I had in my head was really around, you know, a little bit Sharper, you know, displaying the lenses. You know, I thought that maybe, you know, sometimes it can get a little bit shaky, but once you get used to it, once you, you know, kind of adapt how you're moving your, your head around potentially, how you're taking pictures, how you're taking videos, it gets a lot easier. [00:23:32] So we're not quite, we are not quite to, you know, sci fi, futuristic, you know, you know, high resolution, high def type, you know, TV at your, it's your, you know, at your eyeball level. But we're getting there and these are a heck of a step in the right direction. [00:23:55] So I want to say with, with these meta, I think you hit the ball out of the park. I'm, I'm thrilled with these. So stay with us though. We're going to be back after a few short messages from our sponsors and we're going to deep dive into how fashion in the industry itself is using AI and some jobs that you didn't think it was, it was really even possible. So stay with us. We'll be right back. SA. [00:24:51] Welcome back to AI Today. I'm your host, Dr. Alan Bideau and we are talking about Fashion Week in New York City. I think a few of you probably remember me talking about my experience with Fashion Week and not knowing that Fashion Week was going on and going to New York and having to get a hotel and can't, couldn't figure out why the hotel I was staying at was, which was not a, a Ritz by any stretch of the imagination was $1300 a night. Yes, that, that did happen. But you know, let's, let's, let's get back to the now and you know, think about it from this perspective in that, you know, for decades, New York City Fashion Week, it really has been the cultural epicenter of the global fashion industry. It just is. [00:25:45] And you know, designers will go there, they will debut their visions, you know, where some trends are, are really born. And you know, the entire industry takes, you know, takes its pulse based on that week. And you know, it's just, it's just one of those things where, you know, I've never experienced it firsthand experience except by, like I said, by accident. But you know, everything around it is just, you know, excitement. It's new. And so of course, why would AI not, not be impactful there? [00:26:28] So let me just kind of paint a little bit of a, a picture for you in that, you know, as, you know, it's not necessarily with AI a traditional, you know, it's not a traditional Runway, just in general, you know, there were some, you know, AI generated visual experiences that blended, you know, really storytelling with digital artistry while trying to maintain different brands, you know, really what their signature, you know, craftsmanship would look like. And you know, Tadashi, apologies if I pronounce this wrong. Shoji was really, you know, presenting his, his, you know, his line and stuff using that AI generated capability. Now I talked about, I talked about, you know, what, you know, some folks were doing with IBM and Watson and how they were changing the way, you know, they were presenting their, their lines and allowing anybody to really try them on in a virtual, you know, manner. Now the unbelievable thing is, is as you're taking that technology and expanding it out to, you know, the, the Internet in some cases and you know, really that, that, that digital shopping experience that we're starting to expect, then interacting with voice and, you know, text in multiple languages in real time, that now allows the audience to experience things in a entirely new way. [00:28:20] That's pretty fascinating. [00:28:22] You know, as, as you're looking at, you know, Fashion Week, it, you know, I, I, I, I may get myself in trouble when I say this, but it's, it's not just a Fashion Week anymore. It's starting to turn into a little bit of a technology conference, a little bit in that a lot of folks that are doing AI and, you know, looking at these immersive experiences are starting to take notice and are starting to participate and want to be there. They want to see what's going on. [00:29:01] And that's, that's a pretty powerful thing because, you know, as you look, the next breakthrough really is going to be around AR VR, right? I, I know we've had starts and stops for many, many years with AR VR and that immersive, you know, reality experience. But when, you know, fashion is a perfect example on where that industry could lead that, that dynamic into the future, I actually, I think it's probably one or two of the most appropriate industries that could be leading that into the future because, you know, now that you see, you know, I've talked about just some of the, the minor stuff, and that's really just the tip of the iceberg. AI is transforming all of those jobs in between. [00:29:52] Now, whether it's, you know, the design studio to the warehouse to even, you know, the, the customer's phone, it's looking at impacting a whole bunch of different jobs in between. I want to talk about, really talk about the 10 most, you know, impactful places where AI is, is, is really affecting jobs because you Know, we always talk about jobs in, in this segment and if you're in the fashion industry and, or you're, you're wanting to get into the fashion industry, it's no different than trying to get a job in any other industry, especially if you want to use AI because again, you know, it's the jobs that AI can do but really need a human to do very well. The combination is going to really set you apart from everybody else. And so think about it this way, okay, so as you're going in, you're looking at different, different sorts of, of jobs. Probably the first one that you might want to look at would be around personalized product recommendations. You're saying, oh my goodness, what in the world is he talking about? Right? Well, E commerce, huge, huge industry, right? And E commerce brands in fashion, they're using AI to analyze your browsing history, your purchasing patterns, your style, your preferences, everything that you're looking at up until the point in which you buy. And then when you actually buy, of course, ding, ding, ding, that's how it winds up showing up on Google five minutes later that you bought something. And now the analytics pieces are going crazy. [00:31:37] So from Google to Amazon to everywhere in between, they're gathering that and they're looking at it. They want to recommend your size, they want to recommend a product that you're going to be interested in. And based on your previous orders, they hope that you're going to buy more. [00:31:52] That's a very simple principle between, you know, connecting the customer to what they buy, to what we want them to buy. Fashion is no different and that is going to really be impactful. And I think moving forward, some of these brands are going to start to do more of that. They're going to try to take advantage of it on their own as opposed to trying to use some other services simply because the more that you can offer of yourself as a brand, the more you can in house it, the bigger advantage you think that you have. And especially around AI, the, the quicker you're going to be able to get to a sale. And so if you can distinguish yourself that that's going to be one area. Now let me take a drink. [00:32:39] Yes, my peach monster. Sorry, I have a little bit of a cold coming on, but feeling pretty good. [00:32:47] Number two, virtual try ons. Right. [00:32:50] We talked about it with the glasses, it's been around for a while. Oh, put these on, try these on. You know, those sort of things. But now we're going to a full length mirror. Right? Shoes, try your shoes on. [00:33:04] You Know, heck, we've, we've developed cognitive agents that can look at products and say whether or not they like them or not. [00:33:11] So why not be able to try them on? [00:33:14] That was the next logical step. [00:33:16] This has been, again, this has been around for a little bit. But you know, Burberry has really been deploying these virtual try on features in some of their online stores that they have, letting you see what some of their scarves look like, those kind of things, really great. Augmented reality plus AI is really going to start to boost conversations. And let me tell you, if you can prevent returns because somebody tried it on virtually and thought they look good and they keep it, that's a win. [00:33:50] That's a win across the entire industry. [00:33:53] And so that is going to be, that is going to be key. How many times, you know, I'm not going to say the pink bunny suit. Look, listen, we all know what the pink bunny suit is. We think we look good in something. [00:34:04] You know, we're, we buy it, we, we try it on and we don't, we take it back, right? Well, this is helping facilitate some of those things that we think we look good, maybe we don't look good and we get something else. Right? And so again, perspective, trying to help people get through the, cut through the noise, get, get on what they want and then succeed. [00:34:25] Number three is really around image recognition in the visual search, right? I want something, I want to be able to get it faster. Maybe it's a pair of Chanel boots that I saw somewhere or maybe it's a, you know, a pair of Canali Canali shirts or whatever, whatever that is. But having your ability, or having an ability to find it faster, identify it quicker and buy it, that's a win for the stores. [00:34:55] I'm terrible with names. You all know that. Awful with names. Why would a designer be any different? It wouldn't be, I don't know, I just liked it. I want to find it. I can describe it to you perfectly, but I don't know the name of the designer. Help me find it. Well, these technologies with AI getting much better at doing that. So that is going to be very, very important. And that ties into the next one with, you know, number four is around a virtual assistant. [00:35:24] Listen, I can create an agent, a cognitive agent that is a school teacher, a gym teacher, nuclear scientist. Why can't I create a fashion designer? I sure as heck can. [00:35:37] Now that's a virtual assistant that you can ask questions to. Now if it's trained from my perspective, it's going to give you bad advice probably on some things. But if it's trained from a fashion designer's perspective, that's a different ball game. Okay, then you're talking to somebody that knows what they're doing, knows what they're talking about. Do you have questions you can ask them, man. Imagine being able to go back and maybe ask, I don't know, you know, Chanel, Coco Chanel or somebody, you know, ideas on, on taking traditional things and pairing them with new things to create a new look. I don't know, whatever you're trying to do, whatever that looks like, but you have the ability now to do things like that and be more creative with your fashion style. So very, very important. [00:36:26] I think it's going to reshape what the industry is going to look like here in the near future. Number five, fitting, improved fitting is going to be important. Goes with all of the other things with the visual search, the virtual try ons, those kind of things. And sizing charts matter, especially with women's clothes. I don't know about you, if you've ever tried to buy them, you can get a six, you can get a nine. One's European, one's American, one's completely different. You get a small and it's actually an extra large. You know what I'm talking about? [00:36:58] It's very difficult to do that. And AI is going to be able to help facilitate that process so that, you know, no more worrying about sizing charts and whether or not this is that you're going to be able to have a lot more help. You're going to be able to have a lot, especially with the virtual try on piece, you're going to have a better sense on what the size are, what the fits are going to be and what your expectation around that can, can be. Now I talked about the basics really about, I mean really about the user, the customer experience. Now let's talk about some of the creative pieces really quick because the creative and the design side are not being left out. So design assistance is really one of those, you know, one of those up and coming, you know, you know, uses of, of AI. It's creating new designs for different collections. [00:37:53] That's a lot of labor. [00:37:54] And sketches, a lot of times they're thrown out, not right, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah. A lot of wasted time. AI is changing that because it's allowing designers now to upload some initial sketches and it can be in a whole bunch of different, different media, like maybe it's Adobe Firefly or, or something. But then AI can reimagine what some of the colors are. [00:38:19] It can look at the different palettes with those. It can look at different prints and maybe even different themes, and it can go through that entire thing in seconds. [00:38:27] So what used to take days and weeks is now being done in minutes. [00:38:32] Now that doesn't mean that there's a drop in the quality or it's not original or anything like that has nothing to do with that because, you know, AI is not coming up with these things on its own. The designer's asking them to do it. It's just now the AI just doing those things faster for them. That's pretty tremendous. And especially, you know, at the, at the luxury level, you know, I talked about Gucci and, and Prada trying to use it to mine some of their older designs, right, to get some inspiration. But it's looking at, you know, decades of creative history that they have and they're trying to bring it into the, into the new age. [00:39:13] And you know, it's really exciting and if you go online, you can see it. But some of those designs that they have out there are very exciting, very inspirational and it's really leveraging the old to get to the new. And I think that's fantastic. Now, trend forecasting, yay. Right? We talk about this in every single industry trends. The better you can predict those trends, the more that you can give people what they want. No different. No different whatsoever. And if you can do this for a financial industry, you can do it for fashion industry because, you know, AI is really an aggregate of, really the sentiment of millions of social media and you know, you know, history of, of what people are wearing and, and that sort of thing. And so, you know, using AI from a trend perspective is going to be, is going to be really, I would, I would say game changing for a lot of areas inside of the fashion industry. And whether it's, you know, whether it's looking at new trends, whether it's looking at micro trends, where, you know, that entire, that entire process. And you know, I've heard some folks say they want to, they want to enable, design your own stuff, you know, that kind of thing, real time trends. It's, it's, it's really exciting from, from there. And so the last piece is real, the last one is really around what I would say is really around quality. [00:40:49] You know, as you are mass producing different garments, different fashion items, different products, different accessories, then, you know, a lot of them have struggled with quality. [00:41:02] I mean, let's, let's face it, it's just, it's just a fact of reality. In any industry where there is a high volume of product that's created just happens. Now AI though, like in the car industry, like in pharmaceuticals, is being used to, you know, really to detect product defects and they're doing it in real time. [00:41:26] And that is, that is really fantastic. Machine learning algorithms are taking different sensors but with the same purpose. They're taking that data, they're feeding it to the AI and the AI is catching it. Things that the human eye would naturally miss. [00:41:42] The AI is being able to capture. [00:41:45] So as you are getting your, your orders, as you're, you know, buying things online, then you know, there's a, a fewer number of defects, you know, per, per thousands than, than there used to be. That's really exciting for folks because when they buy something, they want to wear it and when, you know, they get it, they don't want to see something wrong with it. And I think that's outstanding. So, you know, I know I went through some of these very quick. We'll talk about, you know, I'm going to have this on a little bit more because it really does fascinate me, but we'll talk about it more. [00:42:22] We're going to come back and we're going to close out the show though, you know, finishing out some other discussions around how the, the, the, the paradigm is shifting and how fashion actually is going to take the lead in a couple of areas around AI So stay with us and we'll be right back. [00:43:08] Welcome back to AI Today. I'm your host, Dr. Alan Badot. And man, we have, we have covered a lot of ground today. We talked about AI and non traditional industries. [00:43:20] We talked about Meta and Ray Ban and the display glasses and how much I absolutely love them and can't wait till I open them up so I can develop on them. Remember that? [00:43:32] And then we talked about some of the jobs and that are being reshaped in the fashion industry, you know, by, by AI and then you know how, you know, events like, you know, Fashion Week in New York City are really allowing designers to enhance some of their creativity skills and, and really just bring technology and you know, their visions together. [00:43:56] It's not at odds with each other, but it's really as, as partners and it's a good example, I think, of how AI and humans, when they're teamed up and they act as partners can really do some, some amazing things. [00:44:17] Crazy, but pretty amazing. [00:44:20] And you know, that's how you've got to think about these. And that's why I think the fashion industry is an industry that we can and should be paying attention to. [00:44:31] We should look at it from that entire willingness to give the AI some additional responsibilities to do some things that, you know, we used to have to do more manual looking at wearables. You know, trying to pair wearables with fashion with accessories is not an easy thing to do. [00:45:01] Trying things on digitally immersing yourself in that experience is something that we all want to do and we all want to get better at it, especially me. [00:45:12] So I think, you know, I would say let's, let's, let's just focus on even, just looking at, you know, the, the wearables from a glasses perspective, right? [00:45:25] You know, as, as colors change, as the frames change, as things become lighter, maybe a little sharper on from a technology perspective, maybe the battery life gets a little bit longer. [00:45:40] You know, once Meta opens up that, you know, their SDK, you know, their developer SDK to, to third party apps, you know, your use cases are going to multiply. It's exactly the same with opening up that lens to allow more fashion designers to use it more, more potential customers to try on your clothes. [00:46:06] That is going to be pretty, pretty outstanding I think, for the industry. Now imagine being able to take your, your AI wearables and going into a store and just automatically immersing yourself in that store's digital experience. [00:46:23] Maybe you're just walking around and you're just looking at different articles of clothing and you can automatically see yourself in what those, what those are. [00:46:34] I know where you're going, but let's, let's, let's keep it on keel. Right? So, but any way though that you can, can really allow yourself an expanded audience is a good thing. [00:46:50] Now AI native fashion brands, I'm telling you, traditional, you know, brands are really starting to embrace it, but not traditional brands that are really adopting AI. [00:47:06] It's created some, some interesting, you know, an interesting pairing that is, is taking off and it's, it's going like crazy. You know, generative designs, predictive trend forecasting, automated supply chains, hyper personalized customer experiences. All of those things are, you know, being integrated from that first garment that they're, that they're manufacturing. And I'm telling you these brands are going to really take off and they're going to be at, you know, people's doorsteps, I think in weeks instead of, you know, the, the traditional period it used to take. And that is, that is something that is going to help drive, you know, market share. It's going to really start to transform what that industry is going to look like. [00:47:56] Now, the last one is around sustainability, because if, if you're talking about fast and you're talking about AI, we've got to talk about sustainability, because I think that's going to go hand in hand as we, as we move forward. [00:48:08] You know, the, the fashion industry and, you know, this is stuff they talk about all the time, is, is depending on what you're looking at and what metrics and what statistics you have, it's really around anywhere from 5 to 10% of global carbon emissions. Okay, they know that. They talk about that. They've done really well cutting that, cutting that back. [00:48:34] There are initiatives to, to cut that back even more. [00:48:38] But with AI, it can really change the equation because with more accurate demand forecasting, that eliminates overproduction. [00:48:47] With AI optimized supply chains, that can help reduce waste. [00:48:52] With AI and blockchain, then your sustainability, you're sourcing from respectable locations becomes even more enhanced. And then with the generative, you know, generative design, then you're testing thousands of variations at it really at the speed, and now, and you don't even have to cut one piece of fabric. [00:49:19] That is really exciting. [00:49:21] You know, it was a big theme. It's always a big theme At New York during Fashion Week. They always talk about it. They continue to emphasize that. And that's. Now AI is starting to enter those discussions. And it's really for a good reason. Right? Because AI is just not. It's not just a business tool. Again, it's not a piece of software. It can be an environmental tool if you use it the right way. [00:49:46] So I hope you enjoyed this week's show. I did, because I had a lot of fun doing it. I learned a lot. I know I've got a lot. [00:49:55] I've got a lot more learning to do, but that's the purpose of this show. [00:50:00] We want to immerse people in new technologies, new areas that they haven't thought about using AI and really help people take, take advantage of it in any way possible. [00:50:11] Next week, we're going to have another great show. I look forward to seeing you. Then again, feel free to send me your comments. I love the questions. I love, love, love the comments around, hey, you know, we liked it with this. Why don't you try something else? That's what we're trying to do. So thank you and we'll see you next week.
